Het Holland Festival kan zich meten aan grote internationale podiumkunstenfestivals. Het festival trekt een breed publiek van bezoekers, media en internationale makers en biedt een plek aan vernieuwende podiumkunst. Er is ruimte voor gevestigde makers, maar ook voor jonge talenten. Dat maakt het Holland Festival tot een van de meest prestigieuze Nederlandse festivals en tot een internationale topper.
The Holland Festival is one of the most important international festivals next to Salzburg, Bayreuth and the Ruhrtriennale. It has a very long and much appreciated tradition but does not only rely on that, but tries to be innovative and shows newest developments. Its diversity of innovative productions of standard repertoire and new creations of all sorts is quite unique. It is a pleasure to come to Amsterdam and an honour to perform for the Holland Festival and its interested and critical public. We hope to be able to exchange productions in the future.
It is a huge honor to have opened the Holland Festival of 2009 and a special privilege to do so in a brand-new theater. And I am always thrilled to be in the company of the great Ana Laguna.
Het Holland Festival heeft met zijn internationale coproducties laten zien dat het op internationaal niveau een initiërende rol kan spelen. Om die internationale positie te versterken adviseerde de Raad voor Cultuur de subsidie van het festival te verhogen.
Toen ik nog in Brussel woonde was het Holland Festival één van de redenen om naar Amsterdam te komen. Nu ik er zelf woon, is de waardevolle en internationale kunst alleen nog maar dichter bij.
The Holland Festival is one of the few festivals that we consider artistically and socially significant. Many festivals tend to lose their relevance to the community they serve. The Holland Festival is well regarded in the international arts community not only for its high quality explorative programming but also its ability to engage the broader community through innovative activities like its Eyefuel, Earfuel and Mindfuel events. The way in which the city is engaged through its comprehensive programming and use of spaces in many ways help define the essence of Amsterdam and Holland to visitors. There are thousands of city festivals. Only a few catch our attention and are appealing enough for us to ensure it stays on our 'radar'. The Holland Festival is one such festival.
De opening van het Holland Festival 2006 met mijn opera 'After Life' was een beslissend moment in mijn carriere. Fantastisch dat Pierre Audi jonge makers dit soort kansen geeft!
Wandering through the program of this festival it feels as an honor being asked to push new flemish music into the spotlights at this fabulous stage. It felt logical to play also the monumental Shiraz composition by Claude Vivier: its fierce, optimistic believe in the universality of differing cultures by trying to show next to eachother the benefits of it, that seems to me also what this festival is aiming for. THE MANGANIYAR SEDUCTION at the Holland Festival 2009 is really special since the Amsterdam red light district was one of the inspirations behind this show. Thank you Holland festival for making it happen.
Het Holland Festival slaagt er al 15 jaar in onze monumentale gebouwen te eren met bijzondere evenementen en voorstellingen. Het lijkt iedere keer alsof de voorstelingen gemaakt zijn voor de ruimtes waarin ze plaatsvinden, zowel de Gashouder als de Zuiveringshal. Van de opera Antigone in 1993 tot de prachtige installatie van Hans op de Beeck in 2008.
Al vele jaren houd ik alle avonden in juni vrij voor het Holland Festival. Ik kijk alweer halsreikend uit naar het programma en hoop dat ik geen avonden te kort zal komen om alles te zien en te horen wat me interesseert.
Het is voor Koninklijk Theater Carré een jaarlijks terugkerend feest om het Holland Festival met bijzondere producties in haar huis aan de Amstel te ontvangen!
Het Holland Festival opent elk jaar weer deuren tot kunst die ik nog niet, of niet op die manier, kende. Daarom is het Holland Festival onmisbaar.
Je suis très heureux de faire mes débuts dans ce festival prestigieux, très fier aussi de faire découvrir une pièce de Benjamin Britten d'une beauté fulgurante qui réunit l'opéra et le théâtre, la culture occidentale et la culture orientale, le geste, la musique et le chant. Par ailleurs, le Directeur du Théâtre de l'Odéon que je suis est très en appétit de découvrir l'ensemble de la programmation du Holland Festival, toujours à la pointe du renouveau, des formes et de l'intelligence scénique.
