The Holland Festival opens on 6 June with a special programme at the Gashouder. Associate artist of this edition, Brazilian theatre and film maker Christiane Jatahy, using images from her extensive film archive, is making a whole new film on Music In Common Time by American composer Caroline Shaw. Greek visual artist and director Evangelia Kranioti accompanies Stravinky's masterpiece Le Sacre du printemps ('The Rite of Spring') with her film, which is a symbolic reflection on the extremes of Western civilisation. Both compositions are performed by the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Karina Canellakis.
