Kamel Daoud (Mostaganem, 1970) is an Algerian writer and journalist. In his novels (Meursault contre-enquête, Zabor, Les psaumes) and essays, he reinterprets the silent legacy of and current issues surrounding colonialism, democracy, violence, fiction and religion from a distinct and nuanced perspective without wanting to please.
