Shailoh Phillips

Profile

Dutch-American artist Shailoh Phillips is provoked by confusion between disciplines. Her practice revolves around fostering forms of resistance and pressure points to act in the face of social inequalities and impending ecological disasters. She has spent the past twelve years cultivating a collaborative practice of cross-media projects such as interactive installations, game design, and facilitating workshops. She is co-founder of SALWA (informal art education for newcomers in the Netherlands) and teaches theory in practice at the Design Academy (Eindhoven) and the Royal Academy of Art (The Hague). One of her favorite topics is hydro-feminism.
