The Beijing Repertory Theatre (BRT) was founded in 2017 by acclaimed actor Jin Dong and designer Han Jiang as an independent, not-for-profit theatre company. 

BRT is committed to a unique spirit and aesthetic disposition. As a theatre company, it calls for a collective voice from theatre artists with coherent pursuits, directing its attention to the tension between individuals and society, the human living space, and the environment. By way of casting new light on classic works as well as encouraging new writing, BRT aims to offer a new reading of the past. Production credit includes Henrik Ibsen’s The Lady from the Sea directed by choreographer Wang Yuanyuan, Beneath the Surface, Slawomir Mrozek’s three short plays and Cherry Orchard.
