Black Pearl de Almeida Lima (1994, Brazil) is an interdisciplinary artist known for her work as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, filmmaker, and model. Her artistic journey began with Capoeira, Hip Hop, and acting classes, which led to a scholarship from the Birgit Keil Foundation in 2010. After graduating from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim, she gained international recognition, including at the Prix de Lausanne.


She has worked with renowned companies such as Gauthier Dance Company and Richard Siegal / Ballet of Difference, performing in works by choreographers including Ohad Naharin and Hofesh Shechter. In 2015 she presented her first choreographic work, Ego, and in 2022 she joined the queer BIPOC collective House of Brownies. Within the ballroom scene, Black Pearl currently walks as 007 in both the Mainstream (Major) and Kiki scenes, presenting the categories EU Runway and Vogue Fem. In 2024, her first short film PEARL, produced by Peoplegrapher and directed by Alexander Norek, premiered. The film was selected for streaming on NOWNESS and received the Berlin Commercial New Generation Award. In 2025, she won the titles FQ of the Year and FQ EU Runway of the Year 23/24 in the German ballroom scene.


Her most recent project, Just Love (2025), presents a new interpretation of Bolero by Maurice Ravel, blending dance, music, poetry, and fashion to explore the diversity of queer love. In her work, she challenges colonial narratives and advocates for greater visibility of trans identities. Recent projects include Just Love with House of Brownies and Fem(in)me for the Attitudes Hip Hop Project Europe. Black Pearl continues to inspire as a performer, teacher, and advocate for representation in the arts.
