Blackhaine
Profile
Tom Heyes (1995, UK), professionally known as Blackhaine, is an English experimental musician, rapper, choreographer and multi-disciplinary artist. Deeply inspired by the French movie La Haine (1995), his work is known for its intense expression of bleakness and angst, what he describes as “negative ecstasy”, conveyed through a fusion of voice, movement, and scenography.
Drawing on influences ranging from Japanese Butoh to drill music, he creates raw, genre-defying performances that immerse audiences in a visceral experience. Blackhaine’s work has gained wider recognition through collaborations with internationally renowned artists, including Playboi Carti, for whom he has contributed choreography and immersive audiovisual elements.
