Chris Watson (1952, UK) is a British musician and sound recordist. In the late 1970s, he was a founding member of the influential experimental band Cabaret Voltaire. Since then, he has become renowned for his experimental approach to sound, developing a particular interest in field recordings of wildlife and natural environments around the world.
Specialising in the creation of spatial sound installations, he has also worked extensively in television, contributing to major natural history series including David Attenborough's Life, for which he won the BAFTA for Best Factual Sound in 1996 and again in 2012 for BBC's Frozen Planet. He also received a Paul Hamlyn Composers Award in 2013.
