Damien Jalet (1976, Belgium) is an independent Belgian-French choreographer and dancer known for his visually striking, interdisciplinary works that merge dance with visual art, music, film, and fashion. He has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Marina Abramović, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kohei Nawa, Arthur Nauzyciel, Paul Thomas Anderson, Madonna, JR, Thomas Bangalter, Jacques Audiard or Xavier Dolan, among others. His choreography for the latest music video by Gener8ion and Yung Lean quickly reached millions of views and was widely shared across social media.
Jalet has also choreographed for cinema, including Suspiria by Luca Guadagnino and Jacques Audiard's multi-award-winning musical Emilia Pérez. His work is marked by sculptural movement, ritual elements, and a continual exploration of the body’s relationship to landscape and sound.
He was appointed Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government in October 2022.
