Dario Calderone

Profile

Dario Calderone is a multidisciplinary artist and composer whose work centers on listening as an artistic, social, and ecological practice. Based in Amsterdam, he creates compositions, sound installations, and participatory projects inspired by Deep Listening, a practice for which he is a certified facilitator through the Center for Deep Listening at RPI. He co-founded Stichting Eco Acoustics, an artist-run platform exploring listening as a way to connect human and more-than-human worlds. His current research focuses on collective dreaming and listening to dreams.

Alongside his artistic work, Calderone is internationally recognized as a double bass player and has collaborated with composers and artists such as Pierre Boulez, Salvatore Sciarrino, Annea Lockwood, Christian Marclay, and Druba Ghosh. He has premiered hundreds of new works for solo double bass and is currently a member of MAZE.
