A short compilation from the film "Helicopter String Quartet" by filmmaker Frank Scheffer. During the 1995 Holland Festival, the "Helikopter Streichquartett" (the third act of "MITTWOCH aus LICHT") by Karlheinz Stockhausen is performed. The four members of the Arditti String Quartet are each in a helicopter; the sound of the blades is mixed by Stockhausen with music of the four string instruments. Scheffer follows the musicians and composer during rehearsals in the studio and through air-to-air shots during the performance.
