Susana Raya is geboren in Spanje, waar zij haar opleiding klassieke gitaar volgde aan het conservatorium in Córdoba. Haar zangopleiding kreeg zij aan de School of Creative Music in Madrid. Tevens volgde zij masterclasses van onder meer Deborah Carter en Pat Metheny. Tegenwoordig ontwikkelt Susana haar jazztalent verder aan het Amsterdamse conservatorium. In haar prille carrière heeft za al op een groot aantal jazzfestivals gestaan, waaronder Pori Jazz, Lady Summertime (Finland) en Nomme Jazz (Estonia). Vergezeld door Felix Hildenbrand op contrabas speelt Susana Raya in het Mint Hotel Latin mzuiek.

The Holland Festival has found a new partner and a new location in Amsterdam’s Mint Hotel, next door to the Central Station. During the festival, the hotel will host three lunch concerts and three late night specials, all with free admission. The hotel is situated right in the city centre and boasts superb facilities, including the public City Cafe restaurant, a lounge bar and a sky lounge with patio, offering splendid views over the city. This publicly accessible lounge will be Amsterdam’s hotspot for three consecutive Friday nights, hosting surprise performances by the festival’s artists.
