London Sinfonietta is one of the UK’s foremost contemporary chamber orchestras, founded in 1968 and based in London. It finds its headquarters at Kings Place and is the Resident Orchestra at the Southbank Centre. As an ensemble, the London Sinfonietta is dedicated to commissioning, performing and recording new pieces, offering cutting-edge programming and virtuosic performances.


Since its genesis, the ensemble produced over 300 works. With a core of 18 principal players, it collaborates internationally with composers, conductors and artists to expand the language of modern music.
