Het Allegoria Ensemble is een oude-muziekensemble, gespecialiseerd in het interpreteren van Spaanse en Italiaanse barokmuziek. Het programma omvat zowel vocale als intrumentele werken. De leden van het ensemble, opgericht in 2009 op het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, ontmoetten elkaar tijdens hun specialisatie op het gebied van historische interpretatie. Ze hebben samengewerkt met ondermeer Al Ayre Español, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, de Nederlandse Bachvereniging, en hebben in Europe, Azie, Afrika en Amerika concerten gegeven. Na te hebben deelgenomen aan o.a. Festival de Música Antiga de Barcelona, het Ibero-American Music Festival in Cáceres, het Festival de Música Antiga Peniscola en het Reinken Music Festival, staat het Allegoria Ensemble bekend als het opkomend oude-muziekensemble van dit moment. In de woorden van de directeur van het Valencian Music Institute in Spanje, Inmaculada Tomás: "The future of historical interpretations is totally guaranteed by such groups as Allegoria Ensemble, which exhibited its great capacity and excited the audience".

The Holland Festival has found a new partner and a new location in Amsterdam’s Mint Hotel, next door to the Central Station. During the festival, the hotel will host three lunch concerts and three late night specials, all with free admission. The hotel is situated right in the city centre and boasts superb facilities, including the public City Cafe restaurant, a lounge bar and a sky lounge with patio, offering splendid views over the city. This publicly accessible lounge will be Amsterdam’s hotspot for three consecutive Friday nights, hosting surprise performances by the festival’s artists.
