Matthias Pintscher (Marl, Duitsland, 1971) is the music director of the Ensemble intercontemporain. Apart from a fully booked concert season in Paris, he travels through Europe, Asia and the United States with the ensemble. Pintscher is active as a composer too: his works are performed by major orchestras and released on various music labels. The French-German musician enjoys doing challenging collaborations; he was artist in residence at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and is a creative partner of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra since the 2020-21 season. Pintscher has been connected to the composition department of the Juilliard School in New York since 2014.
