Two of today’s most influential choreographers – Trajal Harrell and Gisèle Vienne – come together for a unique artist-to-artist talk. Both are known for their uncompromising approach to dance and theatre, blurring the lines between disciplines and diving deep into the physical and emotional landscapes of the body.
As associate artist of the Holland Festival 2025, Harrell challenges the canon of modern dance by weaving together influences from voguing, butoh, fashion, and performance art. His fascination with the space between vulnerability and flamboyance takes centre stage in Welcome to Asbestos Hall and his ongoing Visits series at Likeminds.
Vienne, associate artist in 2021, creates hypnotic visual performances in which the body becomes a vessel for memory, trauma, and resistance. Her latest work, EXTRA LIFE, is a hallucinatory journey through time, shaped by philosophy, light, and movement.
Don’t expect a traditional format, but an open-ended exchange between two artists.
