Sam Slater

Sam Slater (UK, 1984) is an English composer, producer, and sound artist working throughout screen, stage, live and recorded mediums. A regular collaborator, he has worked on projects alongside musicians including Jóhann Jóhannsson, Valgeir Sigurðsson and Hildur Guðnadóttir as well as composing for film and television.


In 2016, he engineered the touring electronics for Oscar-nominated film composer Jóhann Jóhannsson's (Sicario, Arrival) European tour, before going on to complete multiple film projects, most notably Darren Aronofsky's mother! 


In addition to his collaborative projects, Slater develops his own work, exploring immersive soundscapes and experimental compositions, recently premiering his score for the documentary 2000 Meters to Andriivka at Sundance in 2025.
