The Australian librettist Tom Wright (Melbourne, 1968) began his career as an actor. In the late nineties of the past century, he started writing for the theatre and also played in his own work. Among other things, he made adaptations and translations, and his pieces were performed in places like Sydney, London, Edinburgh and Vancouver. After working as Associate Director at the Sydney Theatre Company for many years, Wright is now branching out into the field of theatre and opera, both in Australia and abroad. He is an associate artist for the Belvoir Street Theatre.
