Oscar nomination and Golden Globe for Wagner Moura

January 12, 2026

De Braziliaanse actor Wagner Moura has been nominated for an Oscar for his role in the film The Secret Agent. He previously won a Golden Globe for the same role and also received the Best Actor award at Cannes.

At the upcoming Holland Festival, Moura can be seen in A Trial – after An Enemy of the People, an interactive and razor-sharp reinterpretation of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, in which the audience decides how the story ends. The actor, best known to a wider audience for his role as Pablo Escobar in the Netflix series Narcos, co-wrote the piece with Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy, who was associate artist of the Holland Festival 2024.
