The Return (2017) is a film by Greek artist and filmmaker Menelaos Karamaghiolis (Thebes, 1962). In this documentary, juvenile detainees get the chance to re-enact their own lives and play the lead in a film that tries to overcome the limitations and obstacles of a ‘correctional’ facility.

Theatre becomes a means of self-reflection and is an attempt for young people to reimagine themselves in society.

After the screening, there will be a talk with director Menelaos Karamaghiolis.

The film had its world premiere at the 20th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in 2018.
