Experience Where to From on a deeper level and discover what happens when you listen through meditation and body awareness. The Deep Listening workshop takes place before the performance of Where to From, in which associate artist Hildur Guðnadóttir performs and sings her new album. The workshop focuses on experiencing sound in all its depth and spatiality, both externally and internally.
During Deep Listening, you explore attention and listening through simple exercises. You learn to attune their body and mind to the environment, to connect external sounds with breath, sensations, and thoughts. Remembered or imagined sounds are also welcome, allowing past, present, and future to merge in a single experience.
Listening is at the heart of Hildur Guðnadóttir’s music. In Where to From, she treats sound as a continuum of space and time. Using personal notes, she follows different moments within this continuum and draws inspiration from these observations for her compositions. Sound thus becomes a way to experience memory, presence, and anticipation simultaneously. Her approach aligns with Deep Listening, developed by American composer Pauline Oliveros.
The sessions include sound meditations, breathing exercises, and gentle movements inspired by qigong.
