What starts as an electrifying listening experience celebrating the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel and his iconic Boléro unfolds into a rave where orchestral sounds, a rediscovered 1929 jazz version, and trance-like beats seamlessly merge. After RAVE-L, the party continues at the Muziekgebouw, where DJs take over, turning the dance floor into a pulsating hub of sound and movement.
First up is bebe bad, whose UK roots and signature teddy bear USB bring a set that’s equal parts playful and hypnotic. Her basslines bubble and bounce, synth textures shimmer, and techno-infused grooves tease and entice.
Seductive vocals and intricate percussion keep the energy dynamic yet effortlessly buoyant, drawing dancers into a joyful frenzy. From Balamii and NTS radio to Red Light Radio, bebe bad has electrified stages at De School, Wildeburg, Glastonbury, Kabul a Go Go, and Lofi.
Joining her is Black Cadmium, the solo project of Rotterdam’s underground visionary Joe Macnack. Rooted in Black rave culture and the city’s storied club history, his sound fuses house, techno, UK bass, breaks, and Afro-influenced rhythms into a set that’s raw, spiritual, and impossible to resist.
From deep grooves to futuristic peaks, Black Cadmium effortlessly blends 1990s techno with contemporary edges, sliding between UK garage, percussive techno, and experimental electronic soundscapes. His performances at Lowlands, HORST Arts & Music, DRIFT, Wildeburg, Down The Rabbit Hole, Panorama Bar Berlin, and EXPORT Rotterdam have earned him a reputation for sets that are both intense and transformative.
