A panorama of women’s lives

Woman is a worldwide project from Arthus-Bertrand and Anastasia Mikova that portrays two thousand women from fifty different countries.

The film is an ode to the diversity of culturally specific practices, clothing and religious beliefs. Subjects addressed include motherhood, education, marriage, economic dependence, sexuality, menstruation and abortion. The stories come from a great variety of women, from heads of state to beauty queens and bus drivers. The film is about femininity and circumstances that women are confronted with, and which are still far from ideal in many places throughout the world.

This film is to be viewed at any time from 22 to 29 May.
